Small swimmers carry their own bags, or they should. That means the packing list has to be short enough for them to check it themselves at the door.
- Costume, already turned the right way out.
- Towel, the small quick-dry one, not the beach one.
- Goggles, on a short strap, in the dry pocket.
- A cap if the pool asks for one.
- A snack for the walk back to the car.
Why a smaller bag helps
Under twenty litres means a child can carry it on one shoulder without it dragging on the floor. It also means there is nowhere for a wet costume to hide, which is the whole point.
